    Deleting pre-installed windows languages

    Hello,

So, i just recently replaced my windows 8 to 8.1 and i've noticed that i have "French" installed in my system, i can barely speak english, but french! Anyway after couple of unsuccessful attempts to delete this language i started digging (Searching over the internet for a solution), but i came back with an empty pockets.

    Just to make sure:

This is the language i want to be deleted.

    Thanks in advanced.

Try to use Windows task for language cleanup. Start TaskScheduler:

\Microsoft\Windows\MUI\LPRemove - Launch language cleanup tool.

You don't actually have French installed (that is why it says available for download).

It is only defined as input. Just go into options in the box you have hi-lighted and delete it (you may have to delete the the UK keyboard input method first on the same screen you get to).

I don't know how it worked but thankfully, it did. Previously i was not able to remove it, and it was the only language i had on my system, so i thought maybe i cant delete it because its the one, so i add Arabic and English, but nothing changed, i was still unable to delete it. Yesterday i suddenly was able to do it, the Remove button at the top was highlighted. And for what it's worth, thank for help.

Hi there. Although I don't use the metro screen very often I sometimes use the Apps screen in W8.1 -- the Languages of some of the APPS tiles don't change after you've switched a language say back to English -- having changed all the settings back to display say in English again. For example...
