How Do I Make List View the Default View?

I'm running Windows 8.1 Home edition. How do I make the list view the default view in windows explorer to ALL folders? I actually set this view to all folders. But some folders revert to other views. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello koolx,

vbscript - Change the default view in Explorer. Windows 8 / Registry / VBS - Stack Overflow

Look near the bottom of the page where he talks about using RegShot to get the registry values.

Hi MilesAhead. I read the link. But I'm a bit confused as to how to use RegShot. Can you help me with this please?

Brink's tutorial is related. It deletes the "bags" in the Registry that have the info to force Explorer to reset defaults. The article does the same thing by hand. Try Brink's tutorial first and see if it helps.

Just wondering if Win 8.1 somehow made available a "all programs" list view (as per win 7 start) versus the highly undesirable Metro all programs view ? Can't find any evidence of it ? Is there a way to boot into desktop view directly (as opposed to metro view) yet ? Or am I going to have to buy...
Win 7 was easy to make all your folders show details view and not what windows thought you should view it as. I can't find a way to do that in Win 8. I have googled it many times and all attempts have failed. I have changed several folders to details view only to have them revert back to what...
I much prefer the "list view" in my folders but I don't see way to add "columns" to list view. The only folder view showing these sort tabs is "details" view. Can anything be done about this? Thanks
