Windows 8 won't boot, won't even go to automatic repair

A few hours ago I tried to turn off my ASUS A46cm laptop running Windows 8 and when it was at the shutting down screen, the circular spinning thing in the middle stopped. In panic, I tried to force shut down it by holding down the power button. It shut down. But when I tried to turn it on again, it went o this blue screen with writings on it (I think it said that Windows encountered a problem, etc) and it immediately went to a screen that said preparing automatic repair. A few seconds later, the screen disappeared, and I'm stuck at a black blank screen. I tried pulling the battery off, and am waiting until the screen turns on again. Please help, I've got a Windows 8 ce as well but I don't know how to use it to fix my laptop.
