I have found the culprit! Well, sort of at least...

It seems that the Shark007 codecs blocks me from being able to edit the tags of any mp3 file.

However, after uninstalling the codecs I noticed the following weird behaviour:
After uninstalling the codecs, I'm still unable to edit mp3 tags but only when I'm in the Music Library directory:
But, if I right-click on any mp3 file there, there is an option to open the original file location which seems to be the Music folder opened through My Documents:

If I go to that directory path, I am able to edit the mp3 tags in the Properties menu of any mp3 file. The same goes for mp3's in any other directory other than the Music Library (e.g. Desktop).

However, when I do have the codecs installed, the codecs also removes that ability from those other directory paths leaving me in a state where I can't edit any tags of any mp3 no matter where it's located at.

Now my question; is it normal that you can't edit tags in the Properties menu of any mp3 file when you're doing that from the Music Library but being able to do so when you're doing that from the Music folder in My Documents or any other location for that matter??

If it is a Shark thing it may be a good idea to make him aware of it.

Codecs for Technical Preview 9926, Windows 7, Windows 8.1

Already did that. What I was wondering though is if it's normal that you can't edit tags of mp3 files when you're in the Music Library while you can when you're in the Music folder through My Documents or any other location. This is after uninstalling the codecs

I don't know whether it is normal or not, since I don't use the Libraries/Music folder. But I put an .mp3 in it and I cannot make any changes in its Properties/Details tab from there. The file is not Read-Only; I have Full Control in Security tab. I have never installed Shark codecs.

And I am able to make changes to its Properties/Details tab from its normal directory residence.

Have you tried editing the tags when you're in the Music Library?

You were able to do that through the Music Library instead of the Music folder in My Documents? Weird..
Seems soonerlater10 and me are the only users so far then who has this problem. Shark007 codecs isn't causing this.
