Preparing automatic repair

Alright, I've been searching this question all over the Internet but nothing has worked. My situation is somewhat complex but let me explain. Yesterday evening I went to turn on my laptop and it had the normal startup screen with a little loading circle. After about a minute it still was at loading screen. I turned it off and turned it back on, then I started getting the same loading screen as always but it said "Preparing Automatic Repair" I've seen that lots of other people had this where it restarts the PC and is stuck in a loop but mine just stays at the same screen. If I press F2 upon startup there is a blue box that asks for supervisor password, I don't know it but my dad or brother might. If the only option is to put in the password I can ask them but I'd rather not or they'd get pissed that I messed up the computer. I don't have a Windows 8 install disc so I'm kinda stuck. Can you guys just give some advice and some things to try out?

If this is your father's PC, you better let him handle it. There are various ways to fix any problem, but they may come at a cost - e.g. loss of installed programs.
