    Windows Media Center questions

I have some questions concerning Windows Media Center in Windows 8.

I really love using Windows Media Center on our family pc. However, while using Windows Media Center notifications from Skype, calendar, mail etc. don't get displayed. For some reason they can not push through passed WMC. Is there a setting that makes WMC less blocking these notifications?

Next to that: I have my DVDs and recorded movies sorted in different folders: kids, thrillers, sci-fi etc. However, in Windows Media Center they end up in one huge list. Is it possible to work with folders in the DVDs section?

Finally, I am looking for an app that works like the picture viewer of Windows Media Center. Does anyone know of such an app? Just display pictures at random, display some basic information and have the possibility to go back and forth in the slide show using the cursor keys.

    Thanks in advance!

Is there really no one with experience in this area? A registry tweak perhaps?
