Windows 8.1 won't boot, automatic repair failure

I left my computer running before going out today and come back 3 hours later to an automic repair screen, restarting does nothing but bring me to the same screen, I messed around a bit with the repair options and got a log file, SrtTrail, which tells me it did a bunch of tests which were sucessful but all returned an 0x0 error and in the end there's a generic OS failure 0xc000025, also tells my HD is damaged, something about 7a error, parameters 0x4, 0x0, 0xffffe00110628360, 0x7ff5fbdab388, then there's a bunch more tests just saying auto repair can't find the problem.

What can I do? Is my HD the problem? Couple months ago it was acting pretty strange, few times it ran a scan when booting up but stopped after like a week, every once in a while it also took a bit more than usual to startup after login in to windows but never paid it much attention, now this.

Download and run hard disk diagnostics from your hard disk manufacturer. Some computer manufacturers have their own diagnostics but without knowing what the make and model of your computer is I can't guide you.

How do I exactly go about doing that? Can't get past the auto repair options. I forgot to mention I'm on a laptop.

    What make of laptop.

There may be a hard disk or hardware diagnostics function in your BIOS, maybe F2 or F9 at boot.

From another computer you could also download a bootable cd version of Hiren"s Boot Disk Free which contains all sorts of diagnostic tools to use on your computer.

It's an Asus, nothing happens when pressing the F keys (same with shift+F keys, ctrl+F keys, shift+ctrl+F keys).

Did make it into the BIOS but don't see that sort of option.

On an Asus, repeatedly tapping the Esc key or F2 when booting the computer. If unable, use the Hiren's Boot Disk I indicated above.

Did find the BIOS, just don't see any mention of a diagnostic function, I'll try the CD.

Tried it but can't get it to work, it recognizes the USB drive that I'm using but it just boots as normal and ends up at the automatic repair option screen.

On my Acer, I can tap F12 to pick boot from USB stick. Does Asus have similar F12 function?

No but pressing Esc multiple times like Nuccii said allows me to pick the USB drive, problem is that it, when it boots, it does the whole diagnosis thing and sends me to the automaic repair options screen anyway.
