I've disabled recent items and jump lists, but still windows is creating files there every 2 minutes
It's annoying, not any other thing in the system writes that often

Any suggestions? I want to disable it completely, or atleast know why windows needs to do this

You are worried over nothing as you are monitoring disk writes.. every time a file is accessed there is a read/write process

I checked two different PC's appdata\recent folder

You are correct - they should not be there...

Tracking software? keylogger? malware?? make one wonder why...

Right click the Taskbar -> Properties -> Jump Lists tab & uncheck both entries there. See if that's still happening.

Oh wow, my apologizes. I guess I was busy doing a bunch of different things at once and completely forgot what you said, yet kept reading through this thread. But I just looked online.. I searched for:
"recent\customdestinations"
with the quotes, on Bing search engine. I just looked at this page: Jump Lists | Microsoft Surface tablet
It seems that this folder isn't particularly some malware, since this page states that this folder does exist... (you can read through it). So I wouldn't worry too much about it, but yes, I'd be curious. Check out other search results to figure out what it is.

I hope this helped.

Again, I apologize for my idiocity.
