want to delete these two partitions as i have new mobo

    at command prompt(admin) type>

    Diskpart
    select disk 0
    list partition

    post a pic - just to verify partition layout.. But if those partitions are not needed they can be removed, and C can be expanded to fill the freespace

    the problem is the 40MB partition #2 and the Recovery Image Partition #4 - which can both be deleted..

    But they can not be combined BECAUSE partition 3 sits between them..

    Dang it do you know if windows 10 when it comes out will be able to do a clean install and i just do it then. Thanks for help

    As long as you have a windows 8 or windows 8.1 product key - You can do a clean install of Windows 8.1..

Hi all, just bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7537 laptop and have noticed that the hard drive has 6 partitions on it. 2 OEM partitions (one 40mb and one 8gb), 2 recovery partitions (one 490mb and one 7.8gb), 1 EFI system partition and 1 primary partition.
