I think it happened when I renamed a folder from a save prompt. Now there are two versions of the folder on my desktop: one with the old name, one with the new name. I tried to delete the one with the old name, but it says "This is no longer located in C:\[my name]\Desktop. Please verify the item's location and try again." I have no idea what to do.

Have you tried to do a refresh of the desktop or rebooted into safe mode, to see if they can be removed?

Hello Goweegie, welcome to EightForums! :)
If the folder is not important or a System folder, right click on the desktop and hit 'Refresh'
If there is content in either folder maybe get it out of there first.

Oops, broe's on it, I'll leave you two alone! ;)
