Generally it's required to have the Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate editions of Windows 7 and Windows 8 to get the Group Policy Editor. Your System Specs show Windows 7 but gives no other information to work with.

If following the instructions given in the link you posted don't work you should be getting some error messages.

Dude, everything is written there. It's Windows 8.1 single language, no enterprise or pro.

And like I said, I have already tried everything in that link and am still having the same error of which the screenshot I have posted.
"MMC could not create the snap-in."

Note that you will be able to use it only if your have systems running Pro / Business / Enterprise editions of Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 editions. It will not run on editions which do not have Group Policy, like the Home editions.

A home user has no use for GPEdit, there are other tools such as Homegroup, Workstation, and user accounts. GPEdit is for sysadmins at a larger scale where only the admin has access to system settings and everyone else is just a user. What are you trying to set up?

I just want to block write access to the pendrives which I did via the registry but that doesn't block access to Android devices which use Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). That can be blocked via GPEdit.msc.Do you have any other alternative for doing so?

I think you want to do this. but gpedit can't do it either. You could try the devices properties and changing permissions.

Wrong. I just blocked write permissions to Android devices with MTP using GPEdit on all my Windows 7 devices.

I just need to get Group Policy working for Windows 8.1 like I mentioned in the first post.

I'm not a "dude", just an experienced man in dealing with others. You asked about Windows 8 but show Windows 7 in your System Specs. If it is for Win8 you don't say which version, there's 3 and Pro or Enterprise is required, most likely you have the 'plain jane' Windows 8.1 version. If the process you followed didn't work you may need to upgrade or maybe some infection on your computer is blocking it.

I'm not a "dude", just an experienced man in dealing with others. You asked about Windows 8 but show Windows 7 in your System Specs. If it is for Win8 you don't say which version, there's 2 and Pro is required. If the process you followed didn't work you may need to upgrade or maybe some infection on your computer is blocking it.

I would be posting in the Seven forums if I wanted a solution for Windows 7. It's possible that a guy owns Windows 7 but needs support for other Windows 8 devices.

I did everything correctly according in that guide. It still didn't work. Which is the reason why I am here.

The article you linked to in your first post is for Windows 7, and the supplied files are for Windows 7, not Windows 8.1. The group policy installer they link to is likely not compatible with windows 8. You would have to pull the required files off of a Windows 8.1 Pro install. Even then they may not work with 8.1 Single language.
