Unhandled Exception Error

I have both Paint Shop Pro X6 and X7 installed on my computer. Today I started getting an unhandled exception error when trying to start PSP X7 either 64 or 32 bit reacts the same. This hasn't happened to me before and PSP X6 is working fine.

I tried to follow along with Microsoft on this error but got lost very quickly...lol. I'm not very technical for sure. I have attached a screen capture of the error/.

I will be forever grateful if someone can help me.

Thank you in advance :thumb:

Hi,

Why would you have both of those programs installed at the same time? Does each version have different features that you may need?

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the program?

What version of Windows are you running? Windows 8? Windows 8.1?

Have you tried right clicking on the program and click "Run as Administrator"? Sometimes that will cause programs not to run correctly if you don't run as administrator. Also try to run it in compatibility mode for Windows 7.

Is the program compatible with windows 8/8.1?

Hi Imaneke

I've had version X6 for a long time. X7 has new and different features and I've been using it some but wasn't going to remove X6 until I was comfortable with X7.

Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

Running Windows 8.1 and yes this version is compatible with 8.1

Running as Administrator and comptability with Windows 7 - neither works.

Thanks for your time and reply

On Friday I decided to take X7 off the computer all together and just use X6 for now, however, X6 started giving me the same error. Couldn't load either program. On the weekend I decided to back up all my documents etc. and did a recovery right back to factory defaults and after spending 2 full days at this I am no further ahead. X7 works exactly the same with the same error. I was able to start up X6 but not sure if I will be able to when I get home from work. I click on it and hold my breath.

I also went to Corel PSP on FB and posted a message there. Some lady answered me and said she would forward it to their tech department but not holding my breath.

Just thought I would give an update as to what is happening.
