    Automatic hibernate when logged out

My Windows 8 desktop automatically goes into hibernate when it is logged out. Normally this wouldn't matter much to me because I don't usually leave the computer logged out much, but when I am at school my desktop stays home, and I occasionally log into it from my laptop using TeamViewer. I don't want my computer to run all of the time though so I have it shut down at night, then it automatically starts in the morning. However, if I don't log into it soon after it starts, it goes into hibernate and I can't log into it remotely anymore. Is there a setting to prevent it from hibernating automatically when it is logged out?

Check the power options to modify how long before the OS goes into sleep mode

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options select: Change when computer sleeps verify settings are what you want.

Also look at the Change Advanced power Settings to ensure advanced settings are also what you require

I have looked int the Power Options before and that is why I am confused. Hibernate is set to never, and it is correct, it never does. Except when it is logged out, for some reason it does it then. I'm wondering if there is even an option to change that.

As of right now I am using the BIOS to start at a certain time, and then I am just manually shutting it down. The trouble is that when it starts up, I don't log it in right away. And if I don't, after a while it seems to go into hibernate mode, and so it isn't available to log in with TeamViewer. The idea behind actually shutting it down is that it wastes power just running all night long, so I want it shut down.

I RDP into various cold boot system several times a week with out this issue. I did RDP shutdown.exe /r /f and waited 6 hours and then RDP logged on to a win 8 system with no issues. So IMHO it is some setting you missed or the RDP software you are using.

1 - Check the BIOS for power saving options to ensure that it is not putting the system in a power saving mode.
2 - Check all the settings for Advanced Power Settings to ensure you do not have something like hard disk power saving enabled.
3 - Check the windows screen saver to ensure that it is not putting the system in a power saving mode.
4 - Check that network cards are not being put into power saving mode.
5 - Contact TeamViewer to see if they have seen this before.
