No it doesn't. You must mean faulty hardware, faulty 3rd party drivers or incorrect bios settings.

    Yes, Yes.
The OS cannot function with faulty hardware, faulty 3rd party drivers or incorrect bios settings.

Right yeah - just wanted to it to be clear so any readers can understand well. Windows itself is never the cause of crashes or freezes and always has perfect stability.

I'm actually liking Windows 8. It's awesome for home theatre computers.

Providing I can get key applications in a Metro version (and Windows 8 costs less than $100), I'll be installing it on my HTPC soon after it comes out.

I know, its great, I put it on mine as soon as I downloaded it, its better than Windows 7 for HTPC. I dont even care they've taken out MCE, I'll pay for it as long as they keep developing it and supplying the codecs would be good as well. If not I'll just have to stick with Shark.

lol you know, there was someone on another forum a few years ago saying it would be a really good idea to actually do that with a laptop to try to troubleshoot something, as if the condensation/moisture would not destroy the machine when used while being thawed out.

You forgot one - operator mistakes. I once read that over 80% of the so called 'system problems' are self inflicted.
