PC info crashes because of KB2871389 update

Hi! I recently installed Windows 8 Pro on my ancient Acer Aspire 4736 laptop. Was actually an in-place upgrade, it had been running Windows 7 Ultimate before. So installed some updates. After installing them, I noticed that when I entered the PC info page (or system properties), Explorer crashes. I searched the problem in the internet, and I found out that I should remove the KB2871389 update. It worked, but I'm not happy.

Is there anyway that I could install the said update but get no more crashes from the said situation?

PS just reply the files I'll need to be uploading. Thanks

You could try running sfc /scannow as admin, then use DISM command, run sfc /scannow again(atleast 3 times) follow the instructions in the tutorial below, then download the update and install. If you have any third party Anti Virus program installed, just uninstall them and use windows defender temporarily.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8
DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption in Windows 8

Should I run the sfc /scannow command at boot, at safe mode, or just normally?

Go to cmd, right click and select "Run As Admin".
Elevated Command Prompt - Open in Windows 8

Actually no . All of the other updates that I can't install before got installed. All of them. But this pesky one has problems. It installed, but it still crashes Explorer when I open the System Properties dialogue box. Help
