This seems to be an ongoing problem since Media Center was first released. It was a problem in NT, Vista, 7, 8 and now in 8.1.
I have the Recorded TV library including folders on another computer. When Media Center starts and for as long as it is running, any programs added to the folders on the other computer appear in the MC Recorded TV library. If the Media Center computer sleeps and awakens, it stops scanning the other computer's folders. I have to shut down MC and restart it before it will find the new programs.
I have tried running a script on wakeup to do the MC shut down and restart, but was hoping there was a simpler fix for this problem. Perhaps Microsoft might want to fix this problem after all these years.
