Hello I just bought a brand new computer 3 days ago. Haven't been using it that long. It's an HP Envy 810qe or something like that. The first day I played on it 77 windows updates were downloaded.
The computer has built in Bluetooth which I love but I noticed it was always-on and was wondering if there was an on/off switch. I searched Google and seen there is an on/off switch in PC Settings, PC Devices, Bluetooth. Unfortunately I do not have this. Also under PC Settings and Network I do not have an on/off switch for the wifi. I also don't have anything in PC Settings called Wireless. I talked with HP support (since I just bought this computer) their only option was to do a System Restore or Recovery. I talked to Microsoft support and their only option was to pay for a premium membership so they could use their 'advanced tools' to scan my system and find out the problem. (which is my long history of dealing with computers and support their answer would have probably been the same which was System Restore or Recovery, at which who even knows if this is going to fix the problem)
So now I come to this community my first time here (wave) asking for assistance. I temporarily disabled my Bluetooth in Device Manager because I don't know if it's safe to have it constantly on if I'm not using it. I've seen on here there are other people who have had the same problem but I didn't see a definite solution on the couple threads I read. Also just before disabling my Bluetooth I ran HP support assistant and it had a couple updates. Then when I went to restart my computer Windows Update had another update still no option was showing to turn Bluetooth on/off or Wifi on/off. Also come to think of it I haven't ever seen the option to turn Bluetooth on/off the past three days I've owned the computer.
If for some reason I cannot fix this issue is it harmful to keep the Bluetooth always on? I don't want harm the computer if it's constantly sitting there searching for Bluetooth devices if I'm not using them or don't plan on using them.
