Good day to all,Just sorted out my wifes slow windows 7 with help from the w7 pages here.I followed a tutorial by Brink.
Now I have a windows 8.1 acer laptop which is very slow on startup also I have to enter my microsoft password in about half way through startup. How long should W8.1 take from start to finish ready to use,I would say mine takes about 3-4 min.
Does that seem slow or just the norm for an acer lappy.
Have run all sorts of cleaners Ccleaner and the JRT junkware remover adw cleaner super antispyware and malwarebytes the paid for version.
Any help here Please.
PS.Does Brink have a tutorial for startups of W8.1 similar to the W7 one as that one worked a treat on our W7 hp laptop and my home built desktop.
Many Thanks.

Hello David,

If you would like to be signed in to automatically at startup, then: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2894-log-user-account-automatically-windows-8-startup.html

If you mean for startup programs, then: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5180-startup-items-manage-windows-8-a.html

You might also troubleshoot with a clean boot to see if it may help ID anything causing the slow startup.

Hope this helps for now. :)

I'd say troubleshoot with a clean boot for now to see if it may ID a culprit.
