Why is my PC trying to sync with Store

Brink - I get this error frequently. When I tried your tutorial for manually syncing my Store apps, I found that I'm not Signed In to Store. No surprise because (a) I use only a local account on the Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit machine anyway and (b) I have never manually downloaded anything from Store - it doesn't interest me at all.

So I was unable to follow the next steps in your tutorial.

Why is my PC trying to sync with Store if I never go there and I never sign in to it? Is this due to automatic action by the initial tiles in the Metro desktop that I almost never go to? (I boot up into normal desktop, not Metro.) How can I get my 8.1 to stop trying to sync?

Thanks.

Also have an old but important XP SP3 machine still running - Optiplex 755 Desktop w 4GB RAM and 180 GB HD. Used the registry hack to get more updates through "XP Embedded" or "POS" so now the machine rings like a cash register and the CD drawer opens to give change.
Hello glnz,

If you mean in your event logs, then it's nothing to worry about since it just means that it was unable to at that time, but will try again later when able.

Even though your are signed in to Windows with a local account, the Store will still sync.
