    Cannot change mouse pointer

I recently purchased a UHD monitor (Eizo EV3237 80cm, 3840x2160 resolution), and my previous 80cm 2560x1600 monitor is now the secondary display. In order to get the same size desktop elements on both monitors, I unchecked the Control Panel / Display option "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays", so that menus, dialogs, and text are approximately the same size on both monitors. However, after setting this, I am unable to change the mouse pointer size and appearance. Regardless of what pointer scheme and size I select in Control Panel / Mouse / Pointer, the pointer remains at the default size and scheme, which makes the pointer uncomfortably small and difficult to see on the UHD monitor.

Any suggestions on how to get around this?

I have the same issue and it is very annoying. I recently started using a 4k monitor, and I can't change the pointer. I have 3 monitors total, and it's difficult to find the tiny white mouse pointer at times.

I have noticed that if I press windows + p, and then change to duplicate, then do the same and change it back to extend, it will start using the pointer I select. This is annoying to have to do each time I log in. Hopefully someone has some experience with this and has been able to fix this.

Thanks, that works. At least it's a viable workaround, even if it has to be done at every login.

It's glad that there is some way around it, but it's annoying. It's petty, but it still bothers me as I have to wait a few extra seconds to use the machine when it starts. If you want to have it done automatically, you can create a bat file with the contents below and add it to your start-up.

    %windir%/system32/displayswitch.exe /clone

    timeout /t 2 /nobreak > NUL

    %windir%/system32/displayswitch.exe /extend
