How set up file folders

I have a Dell tablet and would like to know how to set up a folder in which to store photo files. I am a newbie to Windows 8. I then would like to know how to get my photo files into that folder. Thank you.......

Hello Nisko,

If you like, you could use your Pictures library for this.

This way you could also have multiple folders at different locations of pictures, and add these folders to the library. You will then be able to access all these folders in one central location. The Pictures library.



If you like and sign in to Windows with a Microsoft account, you could also use your OneDrive folder to store photos in. This way you could access them from your online OneDrive from any computer at anytime.

Brink, in the long run. in support of image backups/restores, would the OP be long-term better off having C-drive and D-drive partitions? Then, creating folders in the D-drive? Those folders won't be affected by any OS system restore, OS image restore, etc. Of course, whatever backups of D-drive OP makes, those would affect D-drive contents if an image restore was called for.

Hey Roland,

Agreed. In the long run, it would be safer to keep the images in a folder on a separate hard drive that the Windows drive for the reasons you stated. He could also still add that folder to the library for easier access.

Hi Shawn!! I think I understand. I also would like to know how to access my tablet on my local network (router). Once I establish the folder you suggest, I'd like to sync that folder with the photos on my workstation using GoodSync. As of now, the tablet is not on my network. I would also need to be able to find the tablet folder. Thank you....... Whoops: I missed the two links you sent me. I'll review thos shortly. Thanks again!
