Cannot go beyond login screen, error 0xc000012f

Hi. I shut down my computer earlier today, and when I attempted to restart it today I got to the login screen fine. However after putting in my password something starts going. The screen stays black and a window labelled 'PwmChromeGPOMod.exe - Bad Image' comes up with the following text:

'C:\WINDOWS\Temp\TmDbg32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f.'

Behind that window there is one blank window labelled 'C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\TMIDS\PwmChromeGPOMod.exe'. If I click OK, a window pops up labelled 'Error' and saying that 'Installation failed'. If I click OK again here the Bad Image windows pop up again and the whole thing will repeat.

If I force a shutdown and restart by holding down the power button, I can get back to the login screen but everything still happens the same if I try to log in. I have no idea where to go from here, and any help would be enormously appreciated -- it's been a while since I've backed up and I really don't want to lose anything. Thank you.

    Regards,

    Miles

That is the Trend Micro Password console..

If you have windows setup media - boot from the media - and when you see the screen to install. hit F10

this will bring up a command prompt then

    Type> rmdir /s "c:\Program Files\trend micro\tmids"

that will remove the trend micro files directory..

    or type> rename "C:\Program Files\trend micro\tmids" "C:\Program Files\trend micro\tmidsold"

that will rename the trend directory and thus prevent file startup

I don't think I have the Windows setup media -- I bought my computer with Windows already installed -- but is there a way to do what you've described without it?

    Cheers,

Ok, I've created the setup media on a USB but where do I go from here? How do I boot from the media? From what I've read I have to restart the computer with the USB plugged in, but there is no power button anywhere on the login screen. The only way I can turn off my computer is by holding the physical power button until it shuts off. I also heard that by restarting in safe mode I would be able to uninstall Trend Micro to fix the problem, but it seems like in order to get into safe mode I need to hold shift on the power button. So that's not really an option either.

Put the media in the PC that has the issue, power it up and just tap F12 until you get to the boot menu.. Select the media drive to boot from.. Then follow post 2

The problem has been resolved now. I managed to get into safe mode by shutting down and restarting three times in a row. This brought up advanced options and start-up options, from which I accessed safe mode. Then I fully uninstalled Trend Micro and reinstalled it afterwards. My computer appears to be working fine now. Thanks for all your help!

So I disabled the lock screen as it's just another unnecessary click to login, but what I want to be able to do is customise the background image of the login/ctrl+alt+del screen. I know you can change the "accent" colour but I don't want to use a solid colour. How do I go about this?
