    ok i will try that
    but i just had a thought...
    when i used the all folders use general batch file
    it said it would take away the ability
    for windows to detect the content
    like if there's a picture in the folder
    and set it up that way...

    it would be nice to have that back...

    That would be Automatic Folder Type Discovery. Restoring the default folder templates for all folders in step 1 below will enable that again.

    i might try it later,
    cause i thought it might be a substitute
    for what i really wanted...
    but i may find out i like it this way without it...

    You're welcome.

    Basically when "Automatic Folder Type Discovery" is enabled, the folder template automatically changes to optimize the folder to match the file type when it's saved in the folder.

    now that i think about it
    it used to bug me when i'd add an mp3 to the video folder
    and it'd change so i might leave it as it is...

    case solved, everything's fine, thank you...

    Yeah, that does get annoying to have a folder template always changing.
