Solved webm and windows media player

i had windows 7 and windows media player
was the default for playing webm videos
it was already set up this way...

but now with windows 8
it doesn't even know what they are
it thinks it's a web page

it says the extension is unknown by the player
and it pops up a warning page

does anyone know what's up with this?

i use vlc for nearly everything
but webm always looked better in windows media player
that's the only thing i used it for...

For Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 or 8, install the WebM Media Foundation Components.

had to go to google to get it (the link goes to them)

but it works just like it did before...

only took a few minutes...

but google says they own it so you gotta go through them to get it
