Hi.

I am new to this site so if i post on wrong section I'm sorry. Anyway i am having a big problem with my windows 8.1. I just bought this laptop with Windows 8.1 in it and it was working alright for 2 days but, today I can't even open Chrome or Internet for some reason. Also all the updates I'd installed just disappear and keeps giving me this error. 1.PNG

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the delay in my response Cliff S but, that didn't fix the update problem. I leave my laptop on for few hours and still gives me the error. Also there was like 80 updates before now when I checked for update it only shows 5 update. Is there any other way to fix this?

Thanks for the help.:)

(Only for when you have a lot of updates like a refresh or reinstall). I found that that when I turned the internet off, then went back to windows updater it had downloaded a couple to 20 sometimes, and then clicked the install button, then rebooted, turned the internet connection back on, and started downloading till it started hanging then again, then turned the internet off..etc the problem is there are updates that need to be installed before windows can down load the next batch, kind of like when someone starts with windows 8 first you need all it's patch Tuesday updates, then you can get 8.1 and then it's patch Tuesday updates, then get to 8.1 update, and then 8.1update needs it's patch Tuesday updates installed, you follow?

It took me about an hour to update these 5 updates, and as I said earlier I don't see more updates even though by checking it twice.

I did that few times already, nothing happens and as you can see here there are 11 updates total. I even try to download the Optional update for once maybe that helps but so far nothing.

I see 9 succeeded and 2 fail, and the two fail are just the A/V updates which can be downloaded and installed after a reboot.
