There is no performance difference, both versions use the same code. The Pro version simply has additional features included. The fact that you can't see any difference pretty much tells you that you have the right version for you since you aren't asking why your friend's PC has a particular feature that your PC doesn't.

I have the non-pro version on my laptop and the only feature I personally miss is Hyper-V which only comes with Pro & Enterprise versions.
