Changed my user account name - one small hiccup

Hi all,
I recently followed this great tutorial and changed my user account name. Mostly everything has been working great, but I'd found one exception.

It looks like my Add Remove Programs shortcut (when i search via windows key) still contains my old username in it's launch directory. As a result, I get the following error when I try to launch (note: black box is my old ​username)



I would like to know how I can change the shortcut dir to reflect my new user name! Anyone know?

Hello JTon, and welcome to Eight Forums.

To make it universal, you can use the variable below in the path of the shortcut's location instead.

%LocalAppData%

instead of

C:\Users\(user-name)\AppData\Local

I'm not quite sure how to change the directory of this shortcut. I'm on mobile right now so I cant take another screen shot, but here is my process: press windows key, typr add remove programs, see the search result and click it.


I wasn't able to simply right click the search result and change the target dir. Any idea how I can look under the hood?

Normally if you right click on the item and then open file location you can see the shorcut. You can then right click on the shortcut to open the properties and change the path as brink says.

You could try rebuilding the index as it helped for this person (you may want to translate it but the issue looks the same).

Now I have created a new administrator account with a different name and account "Karel" deleted.When starting "tile" right of the screen something I seek, for example. Add or Remove Programs or user accounts, so I retrieved menu appears, but when I run the link, so it is not open - it refers to the search for an old account that is not already there.
Is there any help until a new clean installation?
