Weird alternate version of "Please Wait" screen error.

I haven't been able to find any info on this error, either on these forums or the web at large. If anyone's encountered it before or has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it.

(And, apologies if I posted this to the wrong forum. I'd be happy to repost elsewhere).

I just recently updated the drivers for my graphics card (Intel HD family on a Toshiba Satellite). Since then, upon booting up my laptop I will get the blue "Please wait" screen. It will only last a few moments, then the normal multi-colored boot screen pops up. Unfortunately, once I hit enter or otherwise click to enter my login credentials, the "Please wait" screen returns, before resetting to the multi-colored boot screen. Repeat ad infinitum.

This can be solved by doing a hard restart of my laptop from this screen, using the power button. But, as soon as I get logged in and shut my computer down in a normal way, I re-experience the problem.

Thoughts?

So you are able to boot into the OS? If so I'd recommend installing the older drivers.
