    Try turning off Window 8's Fast Startup. Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 8 I had the same issue on my ASUS laptop, turning off windows fast startup let me get into the BIOS. You can also try this, UEFI Firmware Settings - Boot to from inside Windows 8 if you have a UEFI BIOS and installed in UEFI mode.

    Fast Startup is a hybrid sleep mode and a side effect of the quick startup is you can't get into the BIOS. The PC doesn't really fully shut down.

    My USB Recovery Thumb Drive for my laptop was 16 GB. That was using the Copy OEM recovery Partition to recovery drive option. I do all of my installs from USB 2.0 thumb drives. Trust me, it is considerably faster than doing an install from optical media.

    I appreciate all the help and teaching LOVE THIS FORUM, how can i get the AX64 recovery disk and add to thumb drive? How will i make it bootable?
