Look though the drivers/utilities offered by the manufacturer. On my ASUS laptop I have to install an ATK utility to get all the Fn keys to work. What are they supposed to do? Did this laptop come with Windows 8 preinstalled?

Who is "they"? What are those keys supposed to do that they aren't doing now? If the OS was installed by a third party my guess its a driver issue or a missing utility.
