I can't acces BIOS on my Asus laptop. I have Windows 8.1. My BIOS has not UEFI settings. Could someone help me how to open BIOS without UEFI settings.

On my ASUS X54C with windows 7 one pressed: F1 during boot for BIOS access; F9 for Repair partition; and ESC for boot order.

Edit first post I just found this for win 8 on the asus forums site

There's two ways to access BIOS setup in W8

    1. Open the charms, and go to the PC Settings application, select the General category and click the Restart now button under Advanced startup. Your computer will restart and you’ll enter the Windows 8s boot options menu, where you can access the UEFI BIOS and change other settings.

    2. You can also hold Shift while clicking Restart in the shut down menu to restart your computer into the boot options menu. This is a quick way to restart into the boot options menu, as you can access the Shut Down button from the Charms anywhere on your system.

And here is a little trick to be able to re-enter the BIOS, actually using the F keys:

When in the BIOS, go to the BOOT page, and disable the "Fast Boot" option.
This will slow down the boot sequence a tiny little bit (1 second at the most), just enough for the computer to be able to consider an "F key" entry!!!

I know I should press F1 but Windows do not allow press F1 to boot. Immediately is turn on. I have ASUS X54H. Previously I had Windows 7 and I did not have problems with BIOS. Now on Windows 8 I have this problem.

The fast boot can be disabled in Power Option.

You did spam(repeatedly press and not just hold down) the F1 key. It should work regardless of os. I dual boot with ubuntu and that boots first into Linux GRUB menu but my F1 key still works. And that you upgraded from 7 to 8 you have only BIOS/EFI. Remember repeatedly press like your playing a video game. When you upgraded to 8.1 did you download ATKHOTKEY from ASUS support site? You need it when going from 7 to 8 for all your keyboards hotkeys(F1-12).
