    accidently started to format..

    ready for this??

so i just started disk manager in windows 8.1 (64).. chose the wrong 4TB external drive to format!!!

i started it and clicked yes to format.. then i pulled the plug right away as I realized I chose the wrong disk! what are the steps I can take to get that drive back.. ??

i plugged it back in and now windows wants me to format it completely..

Download Bootable Partition Manger | MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable Edition , use Rufus - Create bootable USB , boot from USB then select Partition Recovery option

you should expect that it'll take a long time. It's 4TB HD.

Did you select both partitions ? This is a GPT disk and there's a 128MB unallocated partition. It must also be selected. From the screen shot, I did not see it being selected.

I think i did select both.. but then i hit finish and nothing happened.. meanwhile i'm still just being ask to format my drive when i plug it in...

im currently looking at testdisk option to re-write the boot sector info..

otherwise i have to again wait a long long time for partition recovery wizard to search and then i select both partitions and then hit finish and it does nothing again??
