As the title says I have a problem with my windows desktop, after a recent restart (no errors were involved) my desktop had distorted task bar icons like they were ghosting an after image of itself this included those on the bottom right (action center flag, volume, date and time etc.) and those on the left (pinned icons).
I have tried changing resolution to a lower level which alleviated the problem as long as it stays in that pixelly resolution. The problem returned when set to its recommended resolution again. I thought then it would be a monitor problem (I had borrowed this one from a friend whilst I waited for my monitor order to come into stock).
I got my new monitor today and the problem still persists with this brand new monitor. The problem seems to increase as resolution rises it has distorted icons on the desktop (made several copies that cant be clicked as if it was part of the background) and has distorted the whole task bar. Attached is a screenshot with red circles detailing the problems (forgot to circle the entire task bar though).
Any help towards fixing this problem would be appreciated . Note that I have not downloaded or installed anything recently other than updates stated in the action center and steam game updates.
Attached is another screenshot showing the icons I can click and run (circled icons, I reconfigured them so I could identify which icons were useable in the meantime), also all the pinned icons on the lower of the task bar are able to be clicked.
I have the latest Windows installed too. I have no clue as too why this is happening and have never had it happen before lol
