Solved Is my windows update legitimate?

Hello! Long-time lurker, now member for a specific question. The members on this site have helped me tremendously on several different occasions with their tech expertise. Thank You.

Anyways, this question may seem paranoid, almost laughable so brace yourself..

My machine was running slugglishy and was beyond repair after an incomplete installation of an update due to a poweroutage. So, after backing up important files, I decided to take advantage

Windows update are secure... you can log into your router to see if you have any guests using your wifi

and a factory reset should be as good as it gets..

when doing a reset - just select remove my files.. if you choose to remove everything it takes hours to write "zero out" the hard drive..

my 1TB took a long long time
