Solved Music Files delayed start

Hello,

My problem is that when i open files such as MP3s, windows media player opens but there's a unusually long delay until the song actually starts playing... the windows media player (when the delay starts) is normal but the pause button is unclickable. if i try to click on any buttons on WMP, it begins to not respond, making me have to force close it through task manager

This problem has started to occur around the same time my flash is messing up (keeps crashing/hanging) on chrome and firefox.

What could be a solution for this?!

Have you tried running SFC?

If no one can offer a solution (fix) for Windows Media Player, try playing MP3 files with VLC.

VideoLAN - Download official VLC media player for Windows

thanks for the suggestion, i'll run SFC now, as for an alternative to WMP, i already tried opening music through VLC, there's still that weird delay before the music eventually plays. i'll post back when i've completed the SFC

edit: restarting PC after running the SFC scan may have fixed it, however, at the same time, i had previously replaced the program files (x64) WMP with the program files WMP as i thought it was corrupt, SFC didn't seem to be able to repair it viewing the log so i changed it back so (x64) WMP had the original (x64) WMP file.i also had previously changed the default location of my documents, restoring that to being in the users folder may also have been a 'fix'.
thanks.
