I have reached the hypothesis that no one is shutting the computer down, it's the computer shutting itself down. Help would be greatly appreciated. This computer is brand new. Help please!

When it sleeps, the light flashes. The light is not flashing at all now, and it causes me to reboot it.

I went to the Event log, and it has a critical error message for Kernel-Power.

It said "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused of the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

This is sill 99% possibility, when system crashes, most of the time it reboots by itself and you would find it on again with a warning about what happened.

Hybrid sleep will, by design, give the appearance of the system sleeping then shutting down - The hybrid sleep state is one where the active memory is saved to disk then the system goes into sleep mode, after a further set period the system goes into hibernation mode and the system is shut down.

On pressing the power button the saved active memory is restored, (from Hyberfile.sys), and the system continues from the exact point of the sleep activity starting.

If you are not seeing this restoration then this is where the fault is occurring. This type of failure to restore is well known as not all BIOS configurations are set to a default that supports it.

Check the system documentation for your BIOS setting as to which "s" Setting , (S0 - S5), is supported and is required to allow hibernate.

If you wish to just have the traditional sleep (plus the manual setting for hibernate), you can switch off the hybrid option and this should revert to this older variation

Yes, that's the way it's designed ;) there are some known issues as I stated with certain hardware set-ups, but these should be controllable though settings.

Check through the details of your active power scheme, ensure that Hybrid sleep is disabled, and also that there is not any timed setting for Hibernation, as this will effect the overall results.

I will say that from a data security point of view the hybrid sleep is a more secure system, than the sleep method alone, as it provides more chance of recovering the system state in the unlikely event of a total power loss during sleep
