Solved making dvd's

Hello everyone. I am new at window 8 forum. I have windows 8.1 and need some help.

I am currently using my old window 7. I am making dvd's with music. The pictures are coming from my pictures gallery. I am using windows dvd maker for this project.

I would like to start using my windows 8.1 for my dvd project but I have been told by some that this could not be done and by others that it can be done. One person told me I should transfer what I am using from my 7 to 8.1.
I am 98 percent that this program was part of window 7 when I purchased the computer. In fact, I do remember that there were complaints that this was not included with windows 8. (dvd maker)

Anyway, is there a program, download, or something that I can use on my windows 8.1 to help me with my dvd project? I know there is something for making movies, but I prefer the way I am making my dvds. It is very simple.
