Keyboard shortcut change window/screen where you are typin

Say you have two monitors with a word doc in one and an word in an another.

Now you want to toggle between the places where you can type (in one word doc or the other)

Without picking up your mouse and clicking, how do you toggle between typing in one document on one screen to typing on a document on another screen?

Maybe there is a way almost just as fast to do this pretending you have no mouse ? Once you alt tab
    It's a long story.

I've never had dual monitors so I'm wondering, isn't there a hotkey to change which monitor has the keyboard focus? If so the software should remember which window has the caret on switch.

That link moves the active window from one display to the other. kneehowguys wants to move the cursor from this text field on Monitor A to that text field on Monitor B.

I've been using a multi-monitor setup since Windows 98 and I am not aware of any Windows shortcut for that. However, you might check out UltraMon not free, but worth it, IMO.

UltraMon is a great multi-monitor utility I've been using for many years that includes, among other things, a hotkey assignment tool and in looking now, I see there are options to assign hotkeys to "Move mouse to next monitor" and "Move mouse to previous monitor". That might fill your needs.

You're right. For some reason I interpreted "active window" as keyboard focus.

This software claims to cycle through monitors shifting the mouse cursor:
