Solved Start screen and apps screen overlap

I recently had to refresh my laptop which meant re-upgrading from 8.0 to 8.1 with all the updates involved. Everything seemed to be working fine then I was prompted to do an update for NVidia GeForce Experience. I don't know if that's what caused the following issue or not but now when I go to the Start screen and click the arrow down to see my apps - the apps overlap the start screen making it impossible to see anything. It's as though the start screen isn't moving up when the apps appear and so I see both screens at the same time. Any ideas on what is causing this and how I might fix it? Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok...seems I still had more updates to go (I guess 219 weren't enough lol). Have restarted and all seems good now. Very weird... (I miss XP!)
