Solved Startup and Logon different from prior versions
Hi! I'm trying out Windows 8 and the install went flawless as far as triple boot with Windows 7 and Fedora 16. Great install process!
I am puzzled by the startup and logon process. It shows a graphical startup screen with a date and icons for internet connection and battery. But there is no message as to what to do; it just seems to be waiting or so. I think the builders should have put a little hint there. How do you get to the logon screen? It seems like I touched the Esc key today and it went. But I am not sure. What exactly should I do? Thanks in advance.

The Win8 UI seems to have been intended for tablet-like "swiping" by default -- presuming that you have a touch screen of some kind.
My laptop does not, so when that appears, I just press the "up" arrow -- and the logon screen appears.

That screen is called the Lock screen. Hit any key and you will get the Logon screen.
