Folder columns show up on desktop, list icons

Hey everybody,

I just noticed a bar running across the top of my desktop that has the columns of a folder (Name, Size, Item Type, Date Modified) and it is listing icons that were on my desktop.

I have attached a screenshot:



When I right click on the bar, the menu pops up and allows me to change the "folder" options, however, there is no folder open.

Full disclosure, I have not done my own thorough troubleshooting session as I quickly googled the issue, found nothing and thought someone might have seen it before and had a quick fix. Oh, I also rebooted. No dice.

Any thoughts on what has caused this are greatly appreciated.

Are you running any third party add-ons?

Must admit, never seen that before.
If you reboot the computer, does it come back to normal? Also go to folder options in the control panel, Advanced tab and click Restore Defaults. Just in case, do a full anti virus scan and download and run Malwarebytes Free.

broe23 -> No third party add ons running that I know of. Will run a selective start up when I get home from work.

Nuccii -> Reboot/shutdown & restart doesn't fix issue. It pops right back up. Ran a quick Avast scan, which found nothing. Have not gotten a chance to run MWB.

Did not see an Advanced Tab, but did restore defaults. No change.
