No C\Users\computername\AppData showing in File Directory

I have a new Windows 8.1 machine and the folder C\Users\computername\AppData is not showing in the File Directory so I can't access anything there. It does exist in the machine becase I have a program showing HDD activity and it accesses that folder many many times during a session.

Any idea how I can get that folder to show in the normal Explorer File Directory so I can access a file in the following Local sub-folder?

when in file explorer click at the top to go to the view tab/ribbon
from here put a tick in the Hidden Items box, top right area

that should now make the AppData folder visable

Thank you very much, Paul. Yes, that did the job. I had forgotten that little item.
