Computer Freezes, mouse blinks, Help?

Hello, I've been having a problem often where my computer will freeze. The video stops, but the audio on everything continues, be it on games, Google Chrome, etc. The freeze is accompanied by my mouse blinking in and out repeatedly. When this happens, it seems that pressing a button on my keyboard solves this for a few minutes. When the computer has one of these 'episodes', every page I try to bring up is blank. If I try to look in my system tray, it's blank white. The same with any other new windows during an 'episode'. I used to have the infamous 'amd driver has crashed and successfully recovered' error, but I don't see them anymore, ow it happens a lot. I use a wireless mouse/keyboard on Windows 8. I tried updating video driver and moving the receiver closer to the mouse/keyboard. Help?
