CPU Usage 100% when not in Task Manager

Hello, I've seen this problem posted repeatedly in SevenForums (CPU stuck @ 100% unless task manager is open Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums) and the like. I have the same problem, but I don't have the igfxupdate.exe files in my System 32 folder or SysWOW64 folder. When I open the task manager, I see the CPU usage go from 90-100% down to it's usual 10-20%. When I look on Process Explorer, I see that my 'System Idle Process' is at 70-80%. It looks like I have this virus, I have the main symptom, but I don't have the file in my folder, and I can't use the "sc delete SearchIndexer" that people type in because I get a 'Open Service FAILED 1060: Specified service doesn't exist as an installed service' error code. When I catch the CPU going down after I open it, it shows that task manager is using 65% CPU, than goes down like nothing happened, returning to normal. How do I fix this? Why do I have man of the symptoms of this virus but not others?

You need to click on the CPU column in task manager to find out what Process(s) are exactly eating up CPU resources. Your process Explorer snapshot only shows 44% CPU use.

I can't do it fast enough. Like the people who had the issue on Windows 7 and some here, it goes back to 20% when I look into the task manager. When I try to look it shows Task manager using 60% CPU, then going back down to the usual low percentages

That depends on what the process is, and what it is doing. You can use Process Explorer instead of the Task Manager. As long as the process is not staying at the higher %, then you are fine.
