when I start up my computer it goes directly from the asus loading screen to the uefi bios screen. when I try to exit out of the screen(save changes and reset or discard changes and restart) it goes right back to the uefi bios screen. it also isn't even a new computer like most people having this problem, I've been using it for almost a year already then when I tried resetting it it just went to the uefi bios screen instead.

Can you enable boot menu which should allow you to press F-12 on startup to get boot options ?

I agree with alphanumeric, it appears something needs attention in the Bios. That sort of thing will happen if you try booting using Windows 8 secure boot and you are booting to a non secure boot device.

It will normally give you some indication and in some cases, just hitting maybe F1 will allow the setting to be corrected.

It appears to me something bad was done to the computer by the OP to screw it up.
A full reset to factory settings & upgrading from there will solve all issues.

Of course a Macrium image when things are good is the way to go.

I have screwed mine up several times.
I was glad to have a Macrium image to fall back on. :)

Reset what? Did you reset the BIOS to defaults, or do a Windows Reset?

I was doing my monthly reset and it was taking longer than normal(like 2 hours) and then it shut down and started up again and went straight to the bios screen after the asus loading screen.

OK, see if you had said, I did my monthly reboot, it would have saved a lot of time. Reset to a lot of use means a "Windows Reset" which is a totally different thing.

Is the hard drive listed in the BIOS? Is it set as the first boot device?
