making a system back up on 8.1?

hello.. Im a bit behind on things computer wise. my old pc (running vista) finally bit the dust... I got 8 years out of her so no complaints from me.

Anyways yesterday I picked up cheapy all in one system with windows 8.1 pre installed. and I cant for the life of me figure out how make a system back up . I've always had some sort of system install or recovery disk for the inevitable no boot scenario... of which I've had to deal with a few more times than id like.

any help, or just redirecting me to some other site/page that explains it well would be appreciated. thanks
