I accidentally reformatted my EFI system partition

My laptop is ASUS X450LD which came with Windows 8.1. I was installing Arch Linux and during the process because I didn't know what the EFI system partition was, I reformatted it and created a new one. I didn't touch the other partitions and so I still have the Recovery and the Restore partition.

If memory serves, I can use a recovery disk to bring back windows' boot. So how can I make a recovery disk from linux? Can I use another laptop's (and another brand's) recovery disk? Can I copy the recovery partition and make a recovery disk in another Windows machine?

Is there another way to create/recover a windows boot?

I wish the previous poster had given a brief description of what page 19 says so others would know the process. But if that process requires the boot partition to function, it will not work anyway.

In order to make an install or recovery drive, you need some type of media. Do you have anything you can boot to and open the Command prompt. If you do not, you could ask ASUS for recovery media, or possibly download the Windows 8.1 Enterprise trial version, or now the Windows 10 .iso and create install media which might be able to recreate the efi partition using Diskpart. Then the BCDboot utility to restore at least some of the boot files.

Sorry, I just assumed the OP could look in his manual. And others reading could take 2 minutes to do what I did, and google ASUS X450LD from which it is simple to click on "Support" from the notebook's home page and from there, take just a few seconds to find listed under Manual & Document, the manual download page where it takes just another couple seconds at most to search on the word "recover" which it takes you to page 91 where it says to restart the computer, press F9, then follow the prompts.

Sorry for the late response, I have been busy with class.

So I'm guessing Linux wouldn't do. I just got the Windows 8.1 Enterprise trial, I'll try to give you the results as soon as I can.

Well, if you read my post, I said the I installed Arch Linux, which means there are changes to the partition table. If you looked at the other search results for "ASUS 450LD recovery" there is a post (where the OP can still boot windows) which said that because he did some modifications to the partition table, he can't use the recovery boot.

Long story short, F9 doesn't work.
