Solved How To Make The Drive To Last?

Hi.

In windows 7, the devices and drives are listed last. But, in windows 8.1, it is first in the list. Can anyone help me to make the drives and devices to the last of the list?

Hello Akhil, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It looks like you have it sorted by descending order. Check to see if using Sort by -> Ascending order instead is the issue.

I know that, but while sorting, DVD Drives comes last, but, the C drive moves from the first list!

Is it possible to retail C drive in first and DVD drive in last?

my dvd rom was first ,but when I choose sort by name and ascending it went to the end of the list after the 3 hdd partitions

From your screen shot, change the drive letter of your DVD from D to anything after G (H,I, J, K ......) then sort by name & ascending

NOTE: Sort by name means: sorted by drive letter.

Thanks for the tip. I have changed all the drive letters, except C. Now the drives are, C,D,E,F and the DVD Drive letter is G

Actually you should have changed it with an available drive letter such as W, Y, Z so if you happen to connect an external USB device, Windows will assign the next drive to be H then your DVD won't be on the bottom of the list.
