You didn't say if you had bitlocker turned on in a previous installation or if you have tried to use ASUS optimized bios options or put in your own. Good luck.
Software developer doesn't mean God, this is why I came here, but it also doesn't mean idiot. I understand you wanted to help, but by not reading about the problem you just waste your time, my time and the time of all people's who find this thread.

by use it I mean do a few things then restart /shutdown stuff like that
Well that was my last resort. What I did is burn a Windows 8.1 image on DVD and reinstalled everything. Now all problems are solved. I still have no clue what the problem was. I guess it had something to do with updating Windows 8.0 to 8.1.

I am not marking this as solved because there is no solution to the problem, reinstalling is just a workaround.

Hi ethreax, I've got almost exactly the same issue you had (same laptop, 5-6 minute wait, problems with hibernation/sleep etc.) but I did try reinstalling 8.1 and I couldn't get it to resolve it. I know you did it many months ago, but what process/settings specifically did you go with when you performed the reinstallation?

My thread about this is Slow startup, hibernate/refresh results in BSOD

Same thing for me I created a thread myself. Maybe it has something to do with the BIOS. I did factory restore TWICE and a clean install? What is wrong?
