Automatic Repair Loop

Okay, so I booted my friend's laptop and began to get her software to get her laptop more secure (after finding tons of stuff on her daughter's laptop). Well, as I went to install one, before even clicking a thing, the screen starts flickering to the point it looks like constant loading. Can't even properly restart the laptop, so I did it by holding the power button down.

Then a black screen with the logo and "Preparing Automatic Repair" comes up. This is continuous and annoying. I have tried several methods to get this out and nothing is working.

System Restore: It failed, saying that their antivirus kept it from rolling back. Error code: 0x80070005
Safe Mode: I can't even get this to boot up. When I select the option, it goes back into the loop.
Command Prompt: I used a bcdedit, and it didn't really do anything.

So, anyone willing to help me is welcome to chime in on how to break this loop. It's frustrating.

Thanks!

EDIT: added the error code to the system restore.

Hi CH, Im David, im using the EightForum app, and cannot see your system specs, or OS. Win 8 or 8.1
Ive had similar issues with windows 8 boot failure, and the windows 8 cd unable to repair the boot, but I was able to repair the windows 8 boot with a Windows 7 boot repair cd. If youve exhausted all other options you may want to give this a try, but you should recover all data you wish to save first from the drive using another computer to browse the non booting drive and copy what you want to keep.

Hopefully someone else will jump in here with a proper solution to your problem.

Good luck
David
