Okay, so I booted my friend's laptop and began to get her software to get her laptop more secure (after finding tons of stuff on her daughter's laptop). Well, as I went to install one, before even clicking a thing, the screen starts flickering to the point it looks like constant loading. Can't even properly restart the laptop, so I did it by holding the power button down.
Then a black screen with the logo and "Preparing Automatic Repair" comes up. This is continuous and annoying. I have tried several methods to get this out and nothing is working.
System Restore: It failed, saying that their antivirus kept it from rolling back. Error code: 0x80070005
Safe Mode: I can't even get this to boot up. When I select the option, it goes back into the loop.
Command Prompt: I used a bcdedit, and it didn't really do anything.
So, anyone willing to help me is welcome to chime in on how to break this loop. It's frustrating.
Thanks!
EDIT: added the error code to the system restore.
